  1. I once took a class from Susan Easton Black, and every time someone would ask her for a source for the factoid she presented, the answer was always “I can’t remember.” Once I was so surprised about a particular story I stayed after class to ask her about it, but she could provide no sources, no evidence, and seemed put off that I would even ask. I researched it myself and found evidence that contradicted her story, but none that supported it.
Since then, I’ve never bothered with any of her books.

  2. The book has plenty of footnotes and a lengthy bibliography. I believe that Casey Paul Griffiths was the main author.
