  1. #8 cites 3 John 1:19. The first chapter of the third epistle of John only has 14 verses. What is the correct citation?

  2. I was thinking about something related a few weeks back after I read The Book of Clement (I think that’s what it’s called). It’s an epistle, written by the Bishop of Rome to the saints in Ephesus, advising them to reinstate their Bishop. The saints in Ephesus had voted out the Bishop, who was appointment to them by an Apostle. Today that sounds absurd. But back then, when the Apostles couldn’t get around as much, and were possibly dying off faster than replacements could be found, it does create a scenario where a Bishop would need to be replaced, but no Apostle would be coming around to do it. I honestly don’t know who to sympathize with: Clement for trying to keep Apostolic order, or the Ephesians who may have ousted a fallen Bishop.
