  1. I feel like the people to whom this applies are the ones who won’t recognize themselves in it.

  2. I do not believe following this is good advice — “Do not listen to those who have not been ordained and/or set apart to their Church calling and are not acknowledged by common consent of the members of the Church.” If taken literally, it would mean closing shop at FairMormon. KLK

  3. Ken, reading that statement in context, and looking at the accompanying footnote, it is talking about those that would teach new doctrine or (supposed) revelation without the proper authority. I think FairMormon is safe. 🙂

    Doctrine and Covenants 43:6–7

6 And this I give unto you that you may not be deceived, that you may know they are not of me.

7 For verily I say unto you, that he that is ordained of me shall come in at the gate and be ordained as I have told you before, to teach those revelations which you have received and shall receive through him whom I have appointed.

  4. . . .lest we forget. . . My sincere gratitude to you, Trevor, for taking the time and energy to warn each of us by writing this extremely valuable article. It is abundant with excellent inspired counsel from many of our trusted leaders and sources, “lest we forget,” and be deceived and led away, as quoted in the article, “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man [and I add woman] deceive you.” May we study it, in depth, prayerfully ponder and consider it, and share it with our family and friends.
