  1. This post makes some excellent points that too many people are not yet familiar with about the JD, but should be. Carruth has made some enlightening discoveries–that Watt and others transcribed the speeches in shorthand, then made some changes when turning them into longhand, then made further changes when preparing them for printing. That is a lot of room for problems/errors to creep in, especially by today’s scholarly standards.
    Readers will benefit by following the links and becoming informed about the research and discoveries. The CES letter is truly one of the worst fictional titles written in our day.
    One good way to have faith/trust in a quotation from the JD is if a modern prophet or apostle uses it in a formal setting or if Church Correlation has approved it in a church publication.
