    Good work once again.

    Thank you for pointing out the UCLA study. It alone justifies the power and benefits of adherence to the Word of Wisdom. That men gain an additional 9 years and women 5 is reason enough to give credence to its value.

    Hot drinks have also been linked to an increased risk for squamous cell esophageal cancer; basically, we shouldn’t drink anything hotter than 145F. Coffee and tea, in addition to be addictive, are the most common “hot drinks” today.

    I believe that section 89 was initially given “not by way of commandment” because, in many areas, there was little selection about the foods and drink one had access to. Nowadays, pretty much everyone has access to a wide variety of options, including those that comply with the Word of Wisdom.

    I am mystified as to why anyone would continue to attack the validity of the Word of Wisdom given the wide range of independent, confirmatory studies available.
