  1. Having been benefited from FAIR’s materials for years, it was a great blessing to pay just a tiny bit forward and contribute to such a fantastic organization as this. Thank you to the staff and writers for all the life-changing work you do! I pray we all see the hand of the Lord in the history of the Church and hear His voice in the words delivered by His apostles and prophets from Joseph Smith to President Nelson.

  2. These criteria seem slightly narrow to me, or perhaps a few were forgotten. Remember that Official Declaration 1 was only signed by Pres. Woodruff–and that’s all who needed to. He held the keys.

None of these have been superseded by any newer signed document/proclamation. Even gospel topics and essays, wonderful and approved that they are, are not on the same official level as these.

  3. Replying to Dennis Horne’s comment 01/06/2025:

    Hello Dennis,

I appreciate your analysis of the criteria I used — and I agree, they are especially narrow. You’re right that there are other official prophetic statements like the ones you’ve cited that act to declare and and stabilize Church doctrine. As far as I am familiar with the specific statements you’ve referred to, their continuing use in the Church is validated but also rather limited, such as BYU’s “evolution packet” or Institute manuals. The effect of the criteria I used is to place priority on the included statements. They signal and define truths that are most important to our salvation and exaltation, and that is why they continue to be cited so constantly and broadly.

    Thanks for your comment!
